CCC Structures

Guernsey State Park has absolutely gorgeous structures. The top image is of the museum, and the bottom is of the 'castle,' a shelter area for parties and picnics. I love how these buildings feel like they belong in their environment. That was one of the goals of the Civilian Conservation Corps when they constructed them in the 1930s. They wanted to blur the line between man-made and the natural world.

  2. Very nice. I agree with the concept of the architecture blending in with the natural environment. They did a great job.
