Birds on a Wire

I've had these images for some time, and I've been trying to figure out how I feel about them. Some days I think they are pretty awesome, and other days they seem weak to me. I'd love some feedback, y'all.

  1. wow, all those little birds sitting on the cross bars and wires. I like the full image because of its composition and wonderful lines cutting across the blue/gray sky but then you miss the details and sheer number of birds that are actually sitting there as is evident in the close crop.
I think a great idea might be to create a diptych out of these two shots. The two photos could mount vertically next to each other for an overall size of about 12x16 horizontally.
Maybe even tone it with an antique sort of feel and brighten a bit so the silhouettes of all the birds and wires stand out a bit more.
    Definetely worth doing something with.

  2. I really like the imagery... the birds, the lines... really wonderful. My only suggestion would be to play around with some color manipulation... maybe even make the sky a very unnatural color... something to give it a little pop and otherworldly quality. There is just something about seeing a mass of birds lined up... images of Alfred Hitchcock's "The Birds", and all that!

  3. I was thinking of a modern remake of The Birds as well... some apocalyptic sky background processing with some strong contrast - might work very well in a dip/triptych

And never mind... Gary already mentioned that. hehe.

  4. ooo...love the bottom image best. I like the composition, the "oh those are birds" aspect of it. The top one is a little too literal for me.
