Decomposing

I just took this yesterday and I'm in love!  I've been hanging on to this leaf to photograph it for months, at least since last winter.  The delicate patterns that nature made as it decomposed this leaf are simply amazing to me.  I see it as a visual reminder that sometimes the subtraction of things equals more - in this case little bits of dried leaf flaking away leave it more beautiful than it was before.

  3. I love the color, the white against red- it has a great pop!

Did you use the Lensbaby for this shot?

Congrats on the blog feature, btw!

  4. I don't have a Lensbaby, though they do look like they'd be fun to play with. This is from my Nikkor Micro lens.
