The King's Garden at Fort Ticonderoga

Hi everyone!  I hope you are having a great weekend.  I am slowly getting around to posting my photos from our July trip to Lake Champlain.  We spent a week in the area, taking day trips from our rental in Essex, NY.  It was my first time to the region and besides the heat (whew, we picked a hot week), it was a really nice place to relax, unwind, and see some new things.  The first day we were there we visited Fort Ticonderoga, and these photos are from the King's Garden.  Back when hundreds of soldiers lived here, there was a massive garden to grow vegetables to feed them all.  Now there is a small garden, representative of the crops that were historically harvested, and beautiful flower gardens that were planted later.  The house in the last photo was built by the Pell family, who lived there while they oversaw the rebuilding of the fort.
