It has been a winter wonderland here in Pittsburgh, with snow every day for the past week. I took the opportunity to strap on the snowshoes and take a hike at Beechwood Farms. The wide, clear trails are perfect for winter hiking. The thing that struck me most today was how tangled all the bare branches look in the winter. I never think of them that way in the summer, when they weave themselves into a canopy, but in winter it looks so different.
