Good Times in Wyoming

Hi everybody!  This has been our busiest summer yet.  Not only did we go to Virginia, South Carolina and California, but we also just returned from a road trip to Wyoming.  We used the eclipse as a reason to get back there - my first time since we moved away six years ago.  And boy did it feel good to see those big skies and empty roads.

Our first night we camped at a little reservoir that my husband likes to fish.  My photographer friend Leah Yetter came on over from Wheatland and spent the afternoon with us as we fished, caught crayfish, and cooked up some supper.  Boy, was it good to see her again!

We tried out our back-of-the-truck camping rig that my husband had built.  Sadly, we got rid of the truck camper we used to have, so my husband built a platform in the back of our truck.  He covered it with a nice foam mattress topper, and built slide-out drawers underneath.  It worked great.  We had a nice first night camping, and enjoyed a lazy morning the next day, spent glassing the mountains and watching my daughter put on a concert.

Somerset Farm

I was just in Somerset, PA, doing what I love most - driving down roads I have never traveled on.  It was a beautiful morning, with the kind of skies you see after a storm system has passed through.  The hills were emerald green in that bright sunlight.  Everything looked fresh and new and I thoroughly enjoyed the pastoral scenery.

Daddy's Hat

This is one of my favorite photos of my daughter.  I took it last year, at the end of our Yosemite Trip.  We were waiting for the boys to get their fill of sunshine and fishing, and in the meantime we were playing around the picnic area.  She adores this boonie cover that my husband had in the Marine Corps.  And for once, she's not making a silly face.
