Bison Herd of Thermopolis

We witnessed the eclipse on Monday, and then left Tuesday morning.  We were about an hour and a half from Yellowstone, so we had to swing by for a drive through.  But when we got to Moran Junction, it was as we suspected - traffic was at a standstill (that's still 28 miles away from the entrance to the park).  There were an estimated 500,000 additional vehicles in the state of Wyoming and I think half of them tried to visit Yellowstone (just like us, haha).  So we turned around and headed back to Dubois for for lunch, and then changed our route to go through Thermopolis, WY.  It's one of our favorite places in the state, with the world's largest hot springs that are free to the public (or you can pay to go to the waterpark that has curly slides) and even an RV park right at the springs (best RV park value in the country!).  It was a bit warm to enjoy the water, but we came instead to see the bison at Hot Springs State Park.  We promised my daughter bison, and there is a herd that roams the park there.  And I'm pretty sure I was as excited to see the bison as my five-year-old.
